MIGRATIONS AUTHORITY CODE (MAC CODE) FOR BROADBAND MIGRATIONS .
| Migrating in to Green
ISP Broadband from existing ISP. It is possible to "Migrate" in to Green ISP quite easily, all you have to do is contact your existing ISP and ask them to supply you with the MAC (Migrations Authority Code ) for your ADSL connection/account to enable you to Join another ISP. They do not even need to know why you want to leave them or who to. Your migration should take place between 7 and 14 days from making the request to migrate. Remember that with service migration you can continue to use your existing ADSL connection throughout processing stage. Once you have the MAC code you can sign-up/migrate as explained in the ADSL broadband pages on this website. What happens if my currrent ISP doesn't support migration? Please note that not all ISPs support outbound migration. You should check with your current ISP if you are not sure, and we advise that you confirm with your current provider regarding any contractual commitment. If you find that your ISP does not support migrations then you can still choose Green ISP as your service provider, by choosing to 'cease' service with your current ISP. Changes in MAC codes and migration processes.
Customers will now note that many of the MAC codes being produced by broadband providers begin with L as apposed to BB or FT. This is the result of BT Wholesale's ongoing migration plan to move connections to EMP (Equivelance Management Platform) whilst a number of delays have been experienced BT Wholesale expect IP Stream migration to the EMP to be completed by March 31st.
** The internal BT process is changing from "Migration" to what is known as a "Provide with MAC" please note, customers who are moving from an LLU provided circuit (Easynet/Sky, CPW, Bulldog/CW Access e.t.c) will be charged a standard activation fee NOT a migration fee once the process is introduced. Our systems will identify which charging is applicable on signup.
