Open Source Software and Operating Systems.
Green ISP would like to inform anyone who does not already know that, the Unix/Linux based Operating system is open source, which means that the core of the system is open to all, with no monopoly on it's development.
We recommend Ubuntu Linux, the word "ubuntu" is an African word which means "humanity to others" or "I am what I am because of who we all are", ubuntu is free and can be downloaded or the CD's sent free of charge at http://www.ubuntu.com/
One of the leaders in the Linux field is Red-Hat, who sponsor the development of what they call the "Fedora Project ", which is available to use for free here: fedora.redhat.com/

NEC deliver us probably the worlds first "ECO" computer. Find out more HERE.
NEC PowerMate ECO.
The restriction of certain hazardous substances (RoHS) and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives are extremely complex pieces of environmental legislation, which encompass huge volumes of equipment across 25 EU member countries.

The "PSU" or Power supply in your PC should be as efficient as possible, check out the The 80 PLUS program.
Save power from your computer by using special program called local cooling from www.localcooling.com
It is a freeware program that manages your computers power consumption, tuning it so it saves as much power as possible.
FUEL CELL CARS - WHAT IS A FUEL CELL?
Basically, a fuel cell operates like a battery. But Unlike a battery, a fuel cell does become de-energised or need recharging. It will produce electricity as long as fuel is supplied (mainly hydrogen).
hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology is fast developing, it works by a "fuel cell" or "fuel cells" converting hydrogen into electricity, with absolutely no emissions except for water vapour.
A perfect solution for cars and transport.
Toyota Fine-S Fuel Cell Car.
A fuel cell consists of two electrodes placed between an electrolyte. Oxygen passes over one electrode and hydrogen over the other, generating electricity, water and heat.
Hydrogen is fed into the "anode" + of the fuel cell. Oxygen (or air) enters through the cathode - . The hydrogen atom then splits into a proton (with help from a catalyst to encourage the process along) and an electron, which make their own way to the cathode.
The proton passes through the electrolyte.
The electrons then create a separate current that can be utilized before they return to the cathode, to be reunited with the hydrogen and oxygen in a molecule of water.
This is a chemical type of process not a combustive one, unlike conventional burning of fuels.

Hybrid Synergy Drive?
Toyota have also introduced the petrol/electric Prius hybrid which uses electricity stored in batteries which are charged by energy during braking.
